April showers bring May flowers – so we should be having quite a bouquet! Here are some up and coming events Meadow Greens will be looking forward to beginning with May 1: 2:30 p.m. in the Library we’ll be getting a tour of Washington state from George Werkema and his slides.

New on Tuesdays at 3:00 p.m. the Garden Club will be meeting. Join Chelsea to see what she’ll be digging up!

There will be a change on the May calendar printed in the Meadow Lark. Kelli will play piano for Meadow Greens in the lobby on Saturday May 5 at 12:30 p.m. and Julie/Doreen will be in the lobby on Sat. May 12 from 11:30 – 2:30 p.m. to feed your beauty and the sweet!

Do you need a ride to Bellingham for a doctor appointment? Catch the Meadow Greens bus on Monday, May 14th at 12:45 p.m. for your next appointment in Bellingham!

The Meadow Greens van will be going to a Mother’s Day Tea at the Lynden Community Center held on May 16, Wed. at 1:30 p.m. Join us!

When was the last time you had a melt-in-your-mouth prime rib? Join us in the Outward Nine dining room on the last Wednesday for our birthday celebration or better known as Prime Rib night! Dinner served from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. but not just dinner, birthday cake too!

Here we are, well into March already but that doesn’t mean the really fun events have already happened!

The Bellingham Boys & Girls Club will be joining us in the park for snacks on Tuesday, the 27th at 2:30 p.m. Ride the van and join us!

The Vanhofwegan Brothers will play some GOOD music for Meadow Greens at 2:30 p.m. in the Outward Nine Restaurant on Friday, March 30

What better way to end the month than a Chat by the fireplace at 7 p.m. on the last day of March, Saturday?

Have you had a Good Burger lately? That’s exactly where we will be going for our Lunch Outing on Thursday, Feb. 8th! The van leaves the lobby for lunch at 11:30 a.m.

There will be a HEARING LOSS & SOLUTIONS presentation given to Meadow Greens by Shari of Hearing Northwest on Tuesday, Feb. 14 at 2:30 p.m. Join us and bring your questions or just yourself!

Another educational forum will be available on Friday, Feb. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Paul, physical therapist from Infinity Rehab. will be leading us in Safety issues so again, bring your questions.

Make sure you have an appetite for the lunch outing to the Olive Garden! Meadow Greens will be going Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m. and again, sign-up in the lobby or call ahead to join us.

Big and exciting things are happening at Meadow Greens starting on Jan. 3 with George Werkema slides of New Mexico. This will be held in the library at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday – join us!

Come, hear some beautiful piano playing by Kelli Tuttle in the lobby of Meadow Greens. She will be performing for us on Saturday, Jan. 7 at 12:30 p.m.

Do you have a hard time cutting those toenails? Local podiatrists Dr. Mark Sheafor and Dr. Mike Riojas come to Meadow Greens every nine weeks to assist our residents with this task. See the front desk for your next appointment without even leaving the facility! Let’s not forget our free manicures with Annette given twice a month also in the Social Room.

Do you have a doctor appointment in Bellingham on Monday afternoon, Jan. 9? Meadow Greens van will be leaving at 12:45 p.m. to drop you off at your designated doctor/therapist and will pick you up when finished!

On Tuesday, Jan. 10th, the Boys and Girls Club will come to play games with Meadow Greens and enjoy snacks.  These are a great group of kids who play a mean game of Bingo!

Need a good laugh? Merriment with Margaret takes place in the library on Wednesday, Jan. 18th at 2:30 p.m. Come hear Margaret Baron’s serious and silly jokes (how do you have a serious joke?!)

Meet your local firefighters and enjoy Prime Rib at the same time! Meadow Greens will be celebrating the January birthdays with Lynden’s fine firefighters (no candles, please!) while we are fine-dining at 5 p.m. on Wednesday the 25th. Call the office to make sure we have enough prime rib or chicken cordon bleu and join us!

Boys and Girls Club will be meeting us at Dairy Queen on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 2:30 p.m. Who can resist Dilly Bars?

December looks to be a busy month here at Meadow Greens! Feel free to join us anytime – you will fit right in!

On Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 2:30 p.m. jazz music by Robert Storm will soothe us during this time of busy-ness.

Friday, Dec. 9 at 12:45 p.m. we will hear some awesome talent from Josh, a local high schooler playing piano for Meadow Greens and at 5:15 p.m., come back to hear the Friday Choir sing.

The weekend starts out right on Sat., Dec. 10 at beginning at 10 a.m. for a mini-Christmas recital and again at 2:30 p.m. that same day when the acapella group “Autoroma” musically entertains us.

The holidays wouldn’t be right if we didn’t get a chance to listen to the Kings Men of Song and here’s our chance: Join us on Wed., Dec. 14th at 7 p.m. to hear the Kings Men in all their musical glory.

Thurs., Dec. 15th looks to be a busy day beginning at 2 p.m. with Larry on the Saxophone. Then at 6:30 p.m. the Lynden Middle School, led by Jeff Seaholm, will be Christmas Caroling with approx. 25 of his students but the day is not over…stay to listen to the Grace Baptist Fellowship carolers at 7 p.m. that night!

Have any last minute Christmas shopping to do? Save yourself the traffic hassles and join Meadow Greens van for a shopping trip to Bellingham leaving at 12:45 p.m. on Mon., Dec. 19th.

Our head cook, John, will be cooking up his specialty, Prime Rib for our Christmas Party and monthly Birthday Celebration which will be held on Dec. 21st. Dinner begins serving at 4 p.m. but hold off until 5 p.m. when Bev Sterk will be playing Christmas hymns, Meadow Greens will have prizes and we can all celebrate the many birthdays in December.

Come to Meadow Greens on Saturday Nov. 5 for early Christmas Shopping – Avon with Julie and fresh homemade Stroopwafels with Doreen! They will be in the lobby from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Nov. 9th  at 9:30 a.m. we will take Meadow Greens on a scenic outing to Bellingham’s Boulevard Park  with a stop at Woods Coffee. When we return, the Dusty Road String band will be entertaining Meadow Greens at 2:30 p.m. in the dining room.

Join us as Larry Alsbury will be singing Johnny Cash at 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 10, Thursday.

Meadow Greens van will be leaving at 10:40 a.m. on Veterans Day, Nov. 11 so we can honor our Vets at Centennial Park on 11/11/11 at 11 a.m. Then again, on that same day, we will be honoring our Vets in the Library at 2:30 p.m. for their past service to this fine country.

Let’s put our voices together with Hymn Singers from the Lynden Community Center when they join us on Tuesday, Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m.

More music! Come be entertained with us and listen to the VanHofwegen brothers on Friday afternoon, Nov. 18 at 2:30 p.m.

Decorate your door with the decor you have the opportunity to craft yourself on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 2:30 p.m. in the library.

Join us for a scenic drive to Holmquist Hazelnut Orchards Wednesday, Nov. 23. The bus leaves from the lobby at 2:30 p.m. on hopefully a sunny day!

Shop with us at Bellis Fair Mall on Monday, Nov. 28 at 12:45 p.m.

Join us for breakfast! On Thursday, Oct. 13th the Meadow Greens van will be pulling out of the parking lot sharply at 8 a.m. for a tasty breakfast at Bob’s in Lynden. Later that day Larry will come and entertain us on his saxophone.

Saturday, Oct. 15 Meadow Greens will be going to Lynden Christian School’s comedy presentation of “You Can’t Take It With You.”

Join us for Monday night football! Where else would you watch your favorite team except on Meadow Greens big screen television in the library with other hootin’ & hollerin’ fans?

Meadow Greens has it’s own BUNKO party with Kim in the lobby! Join us on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m.

The last full week of October will be very busy at Meadow Greens starting on Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 2:30 p.m. for an Ice Cream Social. Then Merriment with Margaret is scheduled in the library on Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 2:30 p.m. where you, too, will have a good laugh! Don’t forget about Loretta joining us with her piano melodies also at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 28th. If you decide to join us make sure you wear Black and Orange that day and you will have a chance at free dining for our Harvest Party which includes Roasted Turkey and Apple Dumplings.

Let’s see what we can “fall” into…

On Saturday, Sep. 3 join us as we tour the beautiful Glen Echo Gardens at 12:45 p.m.

Stay in-house on Sep. 9, Friday, and listen to the VanHofwegen brothers musically entertain us.

Out and about again to the Dahlia Flower Show on Saturday. Our van leaves from the lobby on Sep. 10 at 2 p.m.

Start the day on Thursday, the 15th at 8 a.m. for a breakfast outing on the Meadow Greens van. After lunch come and here Larry play the saxophone at 2 p.m. in Meadow Greens dining room.

In this area we are blessed with lots of scenery and we can take advantage of it on September 19. Join us when the van leaves the lobby at 2:30 p.m. on Monday for a Scenic Drive.

Thursday, September 22nd Meadow Greens will be going to the Peace Arch in Blaine for a lunch and music outing. Sign up to be on the van which leaves at 10:15 a.m.!

The month can’t end without creating crafts…join us for crafts in the library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 29th!

Come join us on Tuesday, Aug. 9 for an Ice Cream Social featuring (hopefully) sunshine on the patio!

Meadow Greens will be filling our van for a scenic drive, lunch at the deLange’s, topped off with ice cream at Edaleen Dairy on Thursday, Aug. 11.

Tuesday, Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. will be a Balloon/Comedy/Magic Show in the lobby and then on the 17th, show off your hobby in the library.

Both the 17th and Thursday, Aug. 18 Meadow Greens will bring you right to the front gate and join you in seeing all the sights at this year’s Northwest Washington Fair.

On Monday, Aug. 22 Reminisce will be here to musically entertain us in the lobby.

You have a chance to play Bingo with Meadow Greens and the Blaine Community Center on Wednesday, Aug. 24. Join us in Blaine or ride with us on the Meadow Greens van which leaves at 11:45 a.m.

Have you been to Milt’s Pizza lately? Join us for our lunch outing on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 11:30 a.m.

Thankfully Loretta will be here once again on Friday, Aug. 26 to lift our spirits and make us laugh and sing at 2:30 p.m. in the lobby.
